Closed Box
The closed box adds a lid to the open box template. It generates six panels (base, four walls, and a top) connected by finger joints, producing a fully enclosed container.
How it works
- Set width, depth, and height in millimeters
- Choose your material and stock size
- Craft Ready Cuts generates all six panels with finger joints on every edge
- Preview the assembled box in 3D, or inspect the flat 2D layout
- Download the SVG and cut it on your laser
What you get
A complete enclosed box with a removable lid that fits via finger joints. All six panels are laid out flat in the exported SVG, optimized to fit your stock sheet. Kerf compensation ensures tight fits when assembled.
Use cases
- Project enclosures for Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or custom PCBs
- Jewelry boxes and keepsake containers
- Shipping or presentation boxes
- Dice boxes for tabletop gaming
- Sealed storage for small parts
Tips
- Height includes the lid: In inside-dimension mode, the interior height accounts for two material thicknesses (base and top). A 50mm inside height means 50mm of usable interior space.
- Lid fit: The finger joints on the lid are designed for a snug press fit. If you want a looser lid, adjust the fit setting in the kerf panel.
- Acrylic works well: Clear acrylic closed boxes make great display cases. Set the kerf to match your laser and material for a clean, gap-free result.
